Musical Border Crossing

Every musician must be jealous of Taylor Swift's ability to transcend musical genres. Unlike other artists and bands, she does not fit neatly into one category. For example, you can hear her song "Love Story" on a country radio station and then tune to a rock station which will be playing the same song, albeit a different version. All they do is nix the fiddle and add an electric guitar solo and BAM, her…See More

"Yeah traffic in this town can be absolutely miserable. It took me 1:20min to get from Burbank to Santa Monica at 6:00pm. But it's all about when you drive. You can get around quickly if you know when to leave."

"I agree with the rain issue, LA has a bunch of weenies when it comes to driving. But I disagree on the pedestrian comment. I find that the pedestrians in LA have the right of way even to a fault. Now NYC...forget about it. One false step off the…"

The Roads of LA

All a traffic reporter needs to say in Los Angeles is: you're screwed. Don't even bother. Google maps should say the same thing to eager drivers seeking directions on their website. Any request in Los Angeles should put the website into self-destruct.…See More

"After I saw Jaws, I was deterred from the ocean for awhile, but I got over that. Now I'm not so sure. The ocean has a lot of creepy creatures- especially those that lurk at the bottom. There is a fish called a blobfish that you should Google-…"

"This is surprising to me. I would have thought the opposite to be the case, as it seems that higher degrees lead to more stressful jobs, and stress leads to more medical issues generally."

My Running Mates

Don't worry, I'm not referring to politics. I am not about to unleash my own personal Paul Ryan on the scene. I am talking about running the sport, as in "don your Nikes and hit the track"running. And as for the "mates," I am talking about the people with whom I share the track every morning. The mornings I am able to motivate my sorry butt out of bed at 6:30, which seems to my groggy mind to be the crack of dawn…See More

"My parents swear by it, but since I am vegetarian I get my Omega-3 from flax seeds. Also I noticed Diane Sawyer on world news said that fish oil pills are definitely not worth the cost. Apparently, krill oil is better- or so says Dr. Oz."

Forever Young

It seems that if you want to remain forever young, you don't need the Fountain of Youth, but rather to choose the right profession. Whether it is a negatively or positively spun article, every single one focusing on Paul Ryan refers to him with some sort of youth-oriented verbs- "boyish and young" being the main two. He is 42 years old. Imagine if he were in a different profession- underwear model,…
