I love the change of seasons. Fall and Spring especially because of the incredible color they bring. But with every season there are expectations. With fall it's Back-to-school, Football, Oktoberfest, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Simply put, fall is the perfect time for entertaining family and friends. But we all know how expensive things are today, so why not be frugal and creative while enjoying the uniqueness of the season.

My Bucket List

1-Grab a date. Visit an authentic pumpkin patch.

2-Go for a hayride.

3-Take lots of pictures including one in a pile of hay or buried in fall leaves, and several with the hay bales.

4-Buy a pumpkin or lots of pumpkins.

5-Invite friends over to carve pumpkins, make caramel apples, and bake pies and cookies.

6-Enjoy a nature walk and picnic (bring the above mentioned snacks).

7-Go to a football game. Bring blankets, hot cocoa or gourmet coffee.

8-Attend an Oktoberfest. And last, but not least...

9-Decorate for the holiday.

This season, I'm going to be very conscious about reusing materials I already have, and buying fruits and vegetables for my centerpieces. You will be amazed at how many glass containers we toss out daily that would make great containers for decor.

This centerpiece is simple to make. Just carve a circle a little larger than your candle, fill with your favorite holiday foliage, and place the candle inside. Gorgeous and inexpensive!

How cute is this? A few edible veggies, an inexpensive bouquet of fall flowers, a few candles laying around the apartment, and a small serving tray or plate for the base.

Hurricanes are always fun to fill with seasonal decor. You can create layers with all types of natural elements found around the neighborhood. Add a few sprigs of green, pillar candles, and small votives for effect.

I like this creation because the nuts will certainly NOT go to waste! It's quick to achieve, and the different containers give an eclectic feel. Add a few green sprigs and a few stray nuts to fill your table space.
