Not sure the German Jews had that option, Scott. It's never a full frontal government assault. It's about inciting fear like the media is doing in this country, working the public up into chaos. It's an agenda for some. Feinstein obviously. Just be prepared for a mass exodus to the North if leaving the US is your recommendation!

I guess my major concern was that most of your points in the post were moot on the account of Switzerland having very stringent gun control laws. Also, if I lived in a country where I was concerned the government wanted to take my guns so they could kill me, or if I was afraid of being outed by the media as not having a gun because somehow that affected my safety...I would move.

Not arguing safety, Scott- no one wants loose canons with guns...but the US is out of whack. Lefty newspapers are publishing citizens' addresses that have guns, thus blowing the cover of those who do not have guns. They're frick'n nut cases. Maybe there should be a litmus test for media too. Oh that's right, the industry would collapse.

Just posted a video and a link from US Marine, Josh Boston to Feinstein. This old lady has no jurisdiction over our rights and she's has been working on this for decades. Sandy Hook just fueled her fire.

Again...gun control does not "disarm" anyone. It limits the access of firearms for those who should not have them.

And Switzerland's gun laws are remarkably similar to Canada's with the exception that every young man is expected to attend military training and then keep his military issued firearm at home. He is still required to possess a licence and undergo a criminal record check AND not be "psychiatrically disabled." He also forms part of the army reserves until his mid 30's.There is also a local arms bureau where firearms are registered, with the exception of "long arms" (i.e. hunting rifles. )

Oh, and Senator, Diane Feinstein from California is out to confiscate our guns...she wants them all...said so in a press conference. She's 110 years old [looks it anyway] and she wants to sign our death warrants before she kicks the bucket. No thank you.

I agree mental health is an issue, but you don't disarm the mentally healthy folks who have never committed a crime because of some whack job. Gun control did not stop Anders Behring Breivik when he slaughtered 77 people including children in 2011. From Wikipedia on Norwegian gun control laws:

There is a total ban on automatic weapons for civilians, unless they fall into the collector category. Modification of semi-automatic guns into fully automatic without the consent of the police is a felony crime.

And how about the Chinese dude, Min Yingjun, who stabbed 22 kindergarteners in December of 2012. China has strict gun control laws and it didn't stop Min from whacking away with a knife. http://bit.ly/Wo48Vy

Crazy is simply crazy. And tragedy is tragedy. Do we ban alcohol because of DUI's...maybe we should. Do we ban baseball bats because someone decided to use one on someone else's head? Maybe we should.

Heard a rumor...a stupid rumor...that England wants to ban kitchen knives now. 

Until the "law" gets a grip on criminals...which they never will...people must be allowed to possess arms and protect themselves. And when you look into the statistics here in the states, something like 88% of all gun related deaths are caused by criminal/gang/law enforcement interactions.

All I know is that when seconds count, the police are only minutes away! Not good nuff odds for me.

Leave our constitutional rights alone. The second amendment was for Government tyranny. Enough said.

Gun control does not "disarm" people. It forces those people who wish to own firearms to attend training and undergo a criminal background check in order to be eligible to purchase and own a firearm. It also requires people to provide references. Said references are contacted to ensure they have no issue with you owning a firearm. This limits the amount of people with known mental instability or criminal records who have access to guns. If there is a concern about your mental stability, you are required to get a note from a doctor 

I've heard a lot of concerns from Americans that believe this only affects law abiding citizens. Obviously, someone who is connected to the mob will have no issue getting a firearm. I don't pretend to know everything about American culture, but if I walk to Wal Mart and they refuse to sell me a firearm, I don't think I'm able to then walk to the illegal Wal Mart across the street to pick up another one. I think I might need some connections. 

I think law abiding citizens should be able to own guns if they want to, and I agree with your position on proper training. As someone who has worked for a Firearms Office that regulates this process in Canada where a large portion of my day was spent talking to convicted criminals, and other people who were not able to own firearms legally, I can tell you the idea of handing one to everyone should scare the absolute crap out of you.
