Let's start talking about workplace bullying

In Asia, we assume that keeping quiet, despite being bullied is for the sake of harmony; being giving loads of hard work is for the sake of promotion. But little did we know, we can potentially be bullied.

Workplace bullying is not a talk-about topic in Asia, especially in Singapore. Let's start talking, shed some light and stop living in fear and suffering in silence.

The Asian culture puts such pressures on us to be our best regardless of conditions.

Kurou! dude- where ya been? Yeah...pressure from our culture is sometimes unbearable. Always striving to be the over achiever.

Jerviel- I cried when I watched your video. You speak from all of our hearts more than you know.

The Asian culture puts such pressures on us to be our best regardless of conditions. I say, we live in different times and if we don't stand up for what's right then we only have ourselves to blame. Fight the good fight, Jerviel. I support.

Well said, Jerviel. Work place bullying is a subject worthy of acknowledgment and conversation.

Hi Jess,

Thank you for your encouragement. I believe that only by speaking about it openly, we create connections to many people out there and empower them. It's daring greatly just like brene brown said

Thank you for this Jerviel.  I know that it is difficult to be growing up in a culture where silence is considered golden, but I am proud of you for your courage on speaking out about this matter.

Thanks. I really feel so much for this topic. I have went through it and I strongly believe that we need to talk about. We need to shed some light so that others can find hope and strength and connections to stand up and overcome it. I also hope to hear from others here at this platform, your stories, to inspire others and to let each other know that we are not alone.

Thank you for bringing up the subject, Jerviel. You are right in that the first step in stopping workplace bullying is acknowledgment of the problem. And sharing your feelings with a co-worker can add validation to what is perhaps a common problem amongst other employees.
