The author of article, Susan Lyne Joins Female Angels Backing Levo League, LinkedIn for La... compares the Levo League to a female version of the Skull and Bones, “the elite Yale University society whose members include some of the most powerful men of the 20th century (CBS News: The Skull and Bones).” I am going to compare the Levo League to a Birkin. Joining the Levo League isn’t exactly like purchasing a Birkin (membership is free and a Birkin starts at $9,000) but Levo is exclusive, elite, and prestigious in terms of the quality of the jobs posted, the quality of the mentorship experience, and the quality of it’s members.
The Levo League is the Birkin bag of Gen Y career advancement sites. A Birkin is synonymous with elegance, style, grace, and exclusivity. A Birkin is so exclusive that there was once a six year waiting list to secure the coveted bag (Hermes). The Levo League will also serve an exclusive group of women. In the article Levo League seeks to lift women in workplace the author mentions that Levo League will have a screening process to, “ensure that Levo members are all smart, ambitious women.” To buy a Birkin you must “develop a relationship with one of Hermès ‘ stores and work with an associate (Can a Birkin bag get you special treatment?)” who will help you find your dream bag. In order to get a job through the Levo League you will receive one-on-one coaching with women who will support you and help you secure your dream job. Imagine telling someone at the bottom of the Birkin waiting list that they could jump to the top by signing up online. They would be thrilled. As The Young Entrepreneur Council tweeted (@theYEC ) you have the opportunity to “skip the line to ‘the best destination for women who are serious about their careers’ by signing up now (here).’”
The Birkin is the “it” bag and the Levo League is the “it” Gen Y career advancement site.
What are you waiting for? Sign up now!

P.S. “I was on an airplane when a plastic bag holding all my things broke and everything fell out — my date book, papers, everything. Just as I was saying how I wish Hermès would make a bag that could fit all my things, the man sitting next to me happened to work for Hermès — it was Jean-Louis Dumas, the head designer! They already had the Kelly bag, named after Grace Kelly, so he began work on the Birkin bag. I went down to the atelier, and he had made it in cardboard. And we talked about it, and I said they should make some changes, like making pockets bigger. And that’s how it was made.” Jane Birkin
