The sound of the wind has never been more relaxing

The way it sways the trees outside

The breeze passing through my kitchen window

and blowing over the coffee pot

spreading the smell of the freshly brewed black

as I pour it into my white cup

and walk over to the table

to sit with a soulless chair..

I light a cigarette

for this lonely heart to inhale

in hopes that the smoke will cover

all the empty spaces

and the nicotine will somehow subside my true addiction...

At least until next time
